Here's a studio shot of two 4ft x 4ft paintings I recently did. Coffee cup - May your cup runneth over in 2011! And Salt and Pepper. Both are stretched and hanging on the entrance to the Benco Headquarters cafeteria called "Kitty's Kitchen".
The Wall Street Journal Personal Section says the New Hue for 2011 is Honeysuckle Pink. According to the article it may be because people need some optimism and want to look through rose colored glasses - I'm all for that!I must have been on to something because that's the color I chose for the bamboo scarves I painted for my neices this Christmas.
Artist and owner Nickola of Arteccentrix offered me a show November 2011. Her contemporary gallery in Grand Cayman shows edgy, relelvant works which are greatly admired and appreciated on the island.
Shown is my painting "Water Flows" which is 9' x 6'.
I always love going to museums and seeing Franz Kline's paintings due to the fact that he was from Wilkes-Barre and derived much inspiration from the coal breakers in our area. Here a one of his works on display at MOMA in NYC - the show runs through April. It is a nice overview of the Abstract Expressionist painters all from their permanent collection. I'm shown with another of my favorites - Hans Hoffman.
Tristan loves the Beatles - his room has pictures and memorabilia all over so it only made sense that he would want the guitars of Paul, Ringo and George painted in his room.
Nickolas loves and recites everything there is to know about owls. He picked this theme for his room and also picked some powerful words which I put on the ribbon in the owls mouth. The words being: leader, journey and wisdom - I would say he may like owls because he's one wise youngster!
