So, it was a two for one - celebrating Alex's (oops) 17th birthday and Mother's Day celebration for Ramah - mother of four….
What a great day and evening!! Shelley (sister of Jan) helped me hang the show - we were there from 9-3 - it was great fun - Chris (Jan's husband) ironed and cleaned while Jan and John (ze chefs) churned out some amazing foodies (which of course we were more then willing to try) - all the while jammin to squizz or was it squid…. on xm.Back at 4:45 - so great to see so many friends and family - flowers from Betsy and Russ - Wow, I am so lucky….. thank you to all!!!!!!!!!
Here's rimsky on the lawn - he's nine - a pretty good boy, unless something is left on the counter - in his life time, he's had probably 80 sticks of butter. Once he ate the whole Thanksgiving turkey - or most of it - we didn't tell the rest of the family until after the "feast” hee hee.
Life Series 1, 11, 111,and 1v are large paintings (60" x 72") depicting what I believe to be the "normal” prescribed evolution of most human beings.
They begin alone and with that "aloneness” comes the question "who am I?” - with the reply eventually, "I am, who I am”.
Inevitably, they fall in love and their question of 'who am I' becomes ' who are we?' 'Are we a couple?' do I lose myself or do I become something bigger by being with you. Life Series 11 show a couple united but still there is space between them suggesting togetherness but also independence.
Couple-hood inevitable leads to parenthood- depicted in Life Series 111. The couple - now parents - with a child between them- adding to their "couple-hood” - but also dividing it.
Life Series 1v depicts the final life stage - death. No longer are there any questions- one is who one is- and once again, they are alone…or maybe not….

The theme is flatware- along with some other things - I'm looking forward being apart of "Something Special” located on Walnut St in Kingston, Pa (off the ave behind Abe's hotdogs).
