Marquis Art and Frame in Scranton is part of "First Friday” in Scranton - where most galleries and studios are open for visitation. What's different this Friday is Ken Marquis has changed his gallery format showing select local artist whose works will be on display from now on. I'm fortunate to be one selected along with Jim Lennox, Nina Davidowitz, and Karen Poels - Last first Friday in Scranton had about 1,000 visitors -– Scranton loves its ART!
Shown here are my black and white paintings, an assemblage piece by Karen Poels, and a sculpture by Jim Lennox.
I started below the window and will continue on the opposite wall of the waterfall - a grove of birch trees a stream and a soft yellow glow vignetted up and beyond - breathe deep….. all is really well….
The opposite wall of the waterfall will be painted with trees and mountains and a stream - both the north and south murals will be seen from the outside. I plan to begin in earnest Tues……. yahoo!
Here's a close up - about a third of the wall - the next step is to go find this waterfall at Rickett's Glen - many of the workers say they've been to this waterfall - even jumped off it!
