Kids from different schools gather for two weeks for intense art study

The first year of the Lyceum school was a great success! The kids were over the moon seeing their works hung in a professional gallery for their final showing. And let me tell you, the place was packed! So awesome to see the arts appreciated and youngsters getting exposure for their creativity!

It starts with an idea turns into an action which creates a transformed atmosphere -
Here's how it goes. 1. Someone looks at their wall and thinks a) it needs a painting or b) the piece hanging isn't working.2. They think hmmm... I think I'll try something else. 3. They call me and we meet and talk about ideas they have. 4. If they don't have ideas, I come up with some. 5. We agree on concepts, colors and shape. 6. I work up a proportionally sized study for their review and approval. 7. I do the larger piece and 8. I deliver to their home - they hang it and think, man, why didn't I do that sooner !

It's a dogs life....

This recent painting I did pretty much sums up summer... a vishyla named Reyka floating in her very own life raft.....

The contrasts....

I recently heard a blogger say people from the east are tougher than people from the west coast. The reason being the harsh long winters we endure. Without ugliness, there would be no beauty, without night, there would be no day, without suffering there is no joy and without cold... one doesn't appreciate warmth!
The idea for this commission came from a bonafide Bob Dylan music lover and devotee.

The idea for this commission came from a bonafide music lover and devotee. Bob Dylan's verses are sung poems which have impacted many generations and many to come. Remember the 12" x 12" album covers that you would flip through marveling at the covers and proudly display? Here they have been painted 20" x 20" creating quite a visually stimulating piece totally 60"x 40" !
