monolithVertical Isolation with a Twist | Monolith Exhibition

The Endless Mountains Council of the Arts in Tunkhannock, Pa has a call out for entries for an exhibit entitled “Monolith,” which is defined as : “A vertical subject in isolation.”

Many pieces I've done are exactly this - vertical subject in isolation which upon hearing has a negative connotation.  I wanted to take a positive twist on the idea - placing a figure in a field of color and energy.

Painting the Town poppiesYou don’t have to go to an art gallery to see the work of Leigh Pawling...just stroll down the streets of Wilkes-Barre! Leigh’s murals adorn the walls of three Wilkes-Barre buildings and will grace yet another another piece of downtown architecture within the next year.

Leigh created vibrant poppies on South Main Street and an aerial view of the City of Wilkes-Barre to enliven an empty store front. She has also been commissioned to paint a mural beneath the Market Street Bridge for the newly-renovated River Common this year.

Work on Display | The Blind Association

blind associationIn addition to the exterior murals that can be seen on the streets of Wilkes-Barre, Leigh’s artwork graces the hallways of several office buildings in the greater Wilkes-Barre area. One such place is the Association for the Blind in Exeter, where Leigh’s artwork - which was donated in 2006 - continues to affect those who view it today.
